The FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO D'ITALIA takes place at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, inside the royal park just outside Milan. One of only two races to have appeared on every World Championship calendar since 1950, Monza is the fastest circuit on the Formula 1® calendar, home race of Ferrari, and spiritual home of the Tifosi.

The fastest circuit in Formula 1®
Monza is built for speed. Long straights and just 11 corners mean cars spend most of every lap at full throttle, making it the fastest circuit on the Formula 1® calendar. The first chicane after the main straight is where the boldest overtaking moves of the race tend to happen, as drivers brake late after the long run from the start.
The Tifosi
Monza is the home race of Ferrari, the oldest team in Formula 1®, and the atmosphere it generates is unlike anything else on the calendar. The Tifosi, Ferrari’s famously passionate Italian supporters, fill the grandstands in red, waving flags and creating a collective noise that drivers describe as physically felt from inside the cockpit. A Ferrari win at Monza produces some of the most emotional scenes in motorsport. Even when Ferrari does not win, the Tifosi remain one of the sport’s great spectacles.
The track invasion
At the end of the Italian Grand Prix, the circuit opens its gates, and fans flood the track for the podium ceremony. This tradition, the most celebrated post-race tradition in Formula 1®, sees thousands of supporters running to stand beneath the podium as the drivers celebrate above them. It is one of the sport’s most memorable recurring images and a specific reason to be in the grandstands rather than watching from home.
Milan at your doorstep
Monza is 15 km from the centre of Milan, one of the world’s great cities for food, fashion and design. The Duomo, the Brera district, the Navigli canals and some of Italy’s finest restaurants are all within easy reach of the circuit. A direct train from Milano Centrale to Monza takes around 10 minutes, making it straightforward to combine the race weekend with a wider Milan city trip. For Ferrari fans, Maranello, home of the Ferrari factory and museum, is a two-hour drive south.
