Experience details
The Wall of Champions
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a track built across the roads of Île Notre-Dame, an island created for the 1967 Expo. Its layout combines long, flat-out straights with a series of heavy-braking chicanes that place enormous demands on brakes and tyre management.
A Metro Stop from Downtown
Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) serves the city with direct connections from most major North American cities and a number of European destinations. From the airport, the 747 express bus connects to downtown Montréal, from where the Metro takes you directly to the circuit.
Montréal Embraces Its Grand Prix
The Montréalais have a particular relationship with their Grand Prix. In the days surrounding the race, the city openly celebrates its F1® weekend — restaurants, terraces and bars fill with fans, and the bilingual, bicultural character of the city gives the event a personality that is entirely its own. The food culture reflects that: poutine, smoked meat from Schwartz's Deli, Québécois patisseries and one of North America's most vibrant dining scenes are all within reach of the circuit.
The Hairpin Atmosphere
The hairpin section is surrounded by four grandstands and a fan zone that face each other across the tightest corner on the circuit. Heavy braking, late moves, and a natural bowl of seating that traps the noise and the energy — it is one of those rare spots at a race where you are as aware of the crowd around you as the cars in front of you.
