The Circuit Drivers Love Most
Suzuka is a 5.807 km technical, flowing circuit that demands more from a driver than almost any other track on the calendar. The S-curves in sector one require a precise, committed approach at high speed, while 130R — a near-full-throttle left-hander taken at over 300 km/h — remains one of the bravest corners in Formula 1®. The figure-of-eight layout, achieved via an overpass bridge, is unique among current circuits and gives fans access to both the inner and outer sections of the track from a single ticket.
The Taste of Mie Prefecture
Suzuka sits in Mie Prefecture, one of Japan's most celebrated food regions. Matsusaka beef, among Japan's most prized Wagyu, comes from this area, as does the fresh seafood of Ise Bay: spiny lobster and abalone, both considered among Japan's finest delicacies. The circuit's food stalls and nearby town of Suzuka offer access to these regional specialities, and the proximity of Ise — Japan's most sacred Shinto shrine complex — makes the wider trip one of the most culturally rich on the calendar.
Japanese Fan Culture
Japanese Formula 1® fans have a reputation that stands apart from any other race on the calendar. Meticulous, devoted and warmly welcoming to international visitors, Suzuka's crowd includes fans who travel from across Japan wearing handmade costumes of their favourite drivers. The atmosphere combines intense passion for the sport with the particular orderliness and hospitality that characterise Japanese public life.
Racing Inside an Amusement Park
Suzuka Circuit is owned by Honda and sits within Suzuka Circuit Land, an operating amusement park. Every Formula 1® ticket includes a 4-day amusement park passport, giving access to rides and attractions across the site before and after each day's sessions. It is the only Formula 1® venue in the world where the racing circuit shares its grounds with a working theme park.
